‘2/3 of consumers say they’re more likely to make a purchase after watching a testimonial video demonstrating how a business, product or service helped someone like them.’

‘Using customer testimonials regularly can generate approximately 62% more revenue.’ (Strategic Factory)
‘Websites using testimonials saw a 45% increase in traffic compared to those who didn’t.’ (Yotpo)
Now, we have that out of the way we can get to the real reason you are here today...
When planning a customer testimonial there are 3 things you must get right -
1. The ideal customer
2. The Questions
3. The metrics to back it up
So, who is the perfect client to interview?
A client who has received great measurable benefits from your product / service, a well known brand if possible and in the industry you are currently targeting.
Now you have the client, let's work on the questions.
Top tip - Ask the client to gather some statistics on how your product / service has impacted their organization.
Whether it is social media metric, website views, sales etc.
Doing this before the customer testimonial interview is key - hopefully the research will keep the positive impact of your product / service front of mind for the client.

Getting the most value out of the customer testimonial
As the statistics at the beginning of the blog suggest video customer testimonials are extremely effective. You can create a video containing all of the answers to the questions above or create a series of short videos addressing one or two of the questions in each video. The best thing to do is create both versions - use the short videos on social media and the longer video on your website and youtube channel.
